When God calls little children
to dwell with Him above,
we always question the wisdom
of his protective love.
No greater heartache compares
with the passing of a child,
who does so much to make this world
seem wonderful and mild.
Perhaps God tires of always
calling the aged to His fold,
and so He picks a precious rosebud
before it can grow old.
God knows how much we need them
and only takes but a few,
to make the land of Heaven
more beautiful to view.
Knowing this is difficult,
asking a million times "Why?"
The saddest word for a mother
will always be "goodbye".
And so when little ones depart,
we who are left behind,
must realize how much God
loves all precious children,
for angels are hard to find.
